Bank by Mail

We understand that you may simply prefer completing your transactions by mail. That's why almost every Bank of Akron transaction can be done partially or completely through the mail. An envelope is returned with your receipt to use for your next deposit. 

Customer-To-Customer Transfers

Do you need to transfer funds? If the recipient is a Bank of Akron customer you can transfer funds from your Bank of Akron checking, savings*, or money market* account directly into their account at the bank. All you need is their account number. Great for the child in college who needs funds. You can also set up future or recurring transfers. Fast, simple and convenient!

Bank of Akron provides Notary Public services to our customers free of charge. 

Safe Deposit Boxes**

The Akron, Clarence and Clarence Center locations have Safe Deposit Boxes available for your use. They come in a variety of sizes. It is an inexpensive way to protect your valuable papers and possessions. Stop in and have the security of storing your valuables in a safe deposit box.

Stop Payment

You can put a “stop payment” on a check you have issued if you do not want the check to be honored. You can also use this service if you have lost your check book(s) or any of your extra checks. The stop can be placed on a specific check, or on a series of checks. It can also be placed on a specific dollar amount, if you do not remember the check number. 

The best way to place a stop payment is using the bank’s on-line banking service. Under the “Accounts” tab is a Check Stop function. You simply complete the requested information as fully as possible and click submit. 

If you do not remember the check number a stop payment can also be placed on a specific dollar amount. Contact our Call Center or any of our Branch Customer Service Representatives and they can assist you in placing the stop payment. Wire Transfers

A method of electronic banking funds transfer that can be made from your Bank of Akron account to another financial institution anywhere in the world. Save time and enjoy peace of mind. Wires can be arranged by contacting your nearest branch.


*You may make six (6) transfers from your account each four (4) week or similar period, if by pre-authorized or automatic transfer, or telephone (including data transmission) agreement, order or instruction or by check, draft, debit card or similar order (including POS transactions), made by the depositor and payable to third parties. Transfers and withdrawals made in person, by messenger, by mail or at an ATM are unlimited.
