Bank of Akron to Merge with CNB Bank.

On December 18, 2019, Bank of Akron announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to merge with CNB Bank. Through this agreement, CNB Bank, through BankOnBuffalo, will assume full operation and ownership of Bank of Akron.

About Our Merger

What is the merger?

Bank of Akron has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by CNB Financial Corporation through a merger with CNB Bank. Following the merger, Bank of Akron will operate as BankOnBuffalo, a division of CNB Bank. BankOnBuffalo has experienced tremendous growth since entering the WNY market in 2016. Through this agreement, CNB Bank, through BankOnBuffalo, will assume full operation and ownership of Bank of Akron.

When will the merger be complete?

Given the time for all regulatory approvals, we expect it will close sometime in early third quarter of 2020.

What will be some of the initial changes happening?

There will be no immediate changes and we will continue to run business as usual. Customers can expect to see the same friendly faces throughout this transition process and for the foreseeable future.

Can Bank of Akron customers still use their debit/ATM cards and checks?

Yes, customers will continue to use the same debit cards, ATM cards, and checks as usual until both banks are using the same system.

What phone number can Bank of Akron customers call for Customer Support and Account Information?

Customers should continue calling the same phone numbers they currently use. However, BankOnBuffalo’s Customer Service Center will begin supporting needs as system conversion nears completion.

Will the Personal Online Banking, Bill Pay and Business Online Banking change?

Bank of Akron customers should continue using their current log-in information to access Online Banking. Before system conversion, customers will receive an information packet about converting to BankOnBuffalo’s Online Banking system.

Will there be any changes for customers who wish to make deposits or loan payments?

There will be no changes at this time. All deposits and loans are safe and accessible to all customers. Our plan is to have no interruption of service throughout this transition process.

Will Bank of Akron continue to be open during the same hours as usual?

Yes, Bank of Akron will continue to run business as usual through the transition and for the foreseeable future.
