In 1881, the citizens of Akron gathered to discuss the need for a banking organization in Akron. It was believed that a local bank would serve the needs of the people and help area businesses grow and prosper. In the late 1800s, private bankers filled the need, and provided for our formation in 1900.
Through good times and difficult ones, we have remained true to the vision of person-to-person community banking. Our success, and the success of our community, is the result of a century of efforts by dedicated employees and loyal patronage from our customers.
As we look toward the future, we rededicate ourselves to our past. Our legacy is our commitment to our customers and to our local communities. We remain dedicated to providing quality service to each customer, as we look forward to introducing new customers to Bank of Akron.
