Akron, NY – Bank of Akron President and CEO, E. Peter Forrestel, II, recently announced the promotion of Rebecca L. Smith, CCBCO, CBAP, to Bank Secrecy (BSA) Officer. In her new role, Smith will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act to ensure that each functional area of the Bank achieves and maintains compliance with all Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) laws and banking regulations.

“Becky has earned this promotion through her hard work and dedication”, Forrestel said. “As the regulatory environment continues to present challenges, it is important that we remain diligent in our efforts to remain compliant in all areas and Becky continues to be a tremendous asset in this area.”
